Getting Serious About Skin (and Stress) | Girl Gone Veggie

If you’re looking for mole removal at home techniques that work, then you’re in the right place. This article contains several methods for safely removing moles yourself. But first…

A Quick Warning about Mole Removal at Home

Despite what you may have read or heard before, it’s never a good idea to cut or burn a mole yourself.

Granted, doctors remove moles by cutting and/or burning the skin. But you should never attempt it at home yourself because special measures must be taken to control bleeding and to minimize the possibility of infection as well as long-term scarring.

Next, if you plan on using natural methods, then it’s a good idea to make sure that you’re not allergic to any of the substances you plan to use before applying them to your skin.

Finally, here’s the most importantly warning: Moles, unlike other skin growths, have the potential to become cancerous. So while there’s nothing wrong with attempting to remove a mole yourself, it’s still best to consult your doctor beforehand.

This is especially true if you’ve noticed any recent changes to your moles, or if you have a family history of skin cancer.

Okay, with that out of the way, let’s move on with…

Over the Counter Mole Removal Products

Perhaps the most convenient way to remove a mole at home is to use a product that’s been specifically formulated to do so.

There are several mole remover products on the market, but the two most popular ones seem to be Dermatend and H-moles.

Both products are made with natural ingredients, which are highly preferred, given that products made with abrasive chemicals can cause irritation and/or permanent scarring.

Many of these removal products, including the two just mentioned, work in similar ways. That is, you apply the product directly onto the mole for several days until it begins to dry out and disintegrate.

Natural Home Remedies for Moles

Moles, like many other skin conditions, can be successfully removed using a variety of herbs, vitamins and other natural substances.

In fact, natural substances are used in the exact same way as the mole creams and ointments, i.e. you consistently apply them directly onto your mole until you see results.

As with other natural home remedies, the best place to start is with herbs. Specifically, each of the following herbs can be used as a mole removal home remedy:

  • Chickweed – You can buy chickweed in a dried form, which would then need to be crushed into a powder, or you can buy it as a liquid extract. In either case, you apply the herb directly onto the mole until it’s gone.
  • Milkweed – Apply milkweed liquid extract to your mole once a day until it’s gone.
  • Tea Tree Oil – Apply undiluted tea tree oil directly onto your mole a few times a day until it’s gone.
  • Dandelion Root – Apply a few drops of dandelion extract directly onto your mole a few times per day until it’s gone.
  • Castor Oil – Apply a few drops of castor oil directly onto your mole a few times a day until it’s gone.
